Heute (18.07.2017) war mein letzter Arbeitstag. Ich habe die Firma gegen 14:00 Uhr verlassen und bin gleich zum Friseur. Die Haare müssen weichen, denn bei der Hitze wäre die Mähne nur eine Last.

Today (July,  18th)  was my last day at work. I left the office at around 2:00 pm and went to the barber's. With the heat I'll have to expect, a mane like mine would be nothing but a pain.

Das historische Vorbild


Genau 215 Jahre nach Johann Gottfried Seume will ich mich auf den Weg machen von Neustadt an der Weinstraße nach Syrakus auf Sizilien, ungefähr 2500 Kilometer alles in allem. Und natürlich zu Fuß, denn wie sagte Seume: "Ich bin der Meinung, dass alles besser gehen würde, wenn man nur mehr ginge..."

Historical Role Model

215 years after Johann Gottfried Seume, I want to be on my way from my native Neustadt an der Weinstraße to Syracuse in Sicily, approximately 1550 miles and of course on foot. As Seume once said: "Everything would go better if one only walked more."

Mein ganzes Berufsleben war ich mit Planung und Vorbereitung von Projekten beschäftigt. Wenn ich mich erholen will, muss ich Platz für Ungeplantes lassen. Trotzdem habe ich natürlich eine ungefähre Vorstellung, wie ich nach Syrakus gelangen will.
